Nimbb Player 1.21.1

With this small update to the Nimbb Player, we added a "port" parameter that you can use to specify on which port to connect to our server. By default, Nimbb will try all possible ports. Most developers don’t need to use this parameter. This new parameter is useful to test how your firewall reacts to different ports. For possible values of this parameter, see this page.

Improved connectivity for users behind restrictive firewalls

With this release of Nimbb Player 1.21, we are improving how the player connects to our servers. For some users working in enterprises, their business firewall would block any connection tried by the Nimbb Player on port TCP 1935. Now, Nimbb will try to connect on port 80 as a fail-over. If this is also unsuccessful, Nimbb will try one last attempt by using HTTP tunneling connectivity to our servers. This might cause a slower connection when playing or recording a video, but will allow almost all users to use Nimbb on any business network.

Nimbb Player 1.20: Added Portuguese translation

You can now set the Nimbb Player’s interface language to Portuguese. All you have to do is add the parameter "lang=pt".

"Missing Plug-in" issue with Google Chrome

Yesterday, we were aware of a problem with the latest version of Google Chrome. Instead of displaying Nimbb, Chrome would display the text "Missing Plug-in". After investigation, is seems that Chrome version 16.0.912.63 is more strict and displays this message if the <EMBED> tag doesn’t specify the parameter type="application/x-shockwave-flash". Make sure to update your Nimbb embed code accordingly if you are having the issue.

We have updated our Known issues page. We also updated all our tutorials to fix this problem.

Added function Account/Get to Web Service

If you are developing a project using Nimbb for a client, getting information about the account might be very useful. For that reason, we added a new Account/Get function that you can call using the Web Service. This function returns interesting information like public key, private key, total videos, subscription type and subscription end date.

To use the function, the queried account must have an active subscription (Bronze or higher).

Nimbb Player 1.19.2: minor updates

With this small update of the Nimbb Player, we are fixing a problem with the Facebook sharing feature. Sometimes, the thumbnail image could not be displayed by Facebook. Now, when clicking a sharing button on the player after recording a video (either Facebook, Twitter or More), a new window opens to the appropriate site to complete the operation.

Also with this update, we now display the recording time in format "MIN SEC" (instead of just "SEC").

Now you can set the Nimbb Player in Spanish language by using the lang parameter with value 'es'. We want to thank Joshua Sierles for this translation.

Nimbb Player 1.18: add overlay image

With the release of the Nimbb Player 1.18, we are adding two new parameters: "mirror" and "overlayurl". The mirror parameter allows to horizontally flip the video image. The overlayurl parameter allows to add an image over the video area of the Nimbb Player. For example, you could use this feature to add a circle and ask your users to record with their head inside the circle. The overlay feature is accessible to our Gold or higher subscribers.

We added a new tutorial: Add an overlay image on the player.

Also, we added two partners to our Customers page: Brightcove and Xobni.
