New tutorial: Embed Nimbb in an Adobe Flash Professional application

If you are working with Adobe Flash Professional CS6 (or previous versions), you can now learn how to embed the Nimbb Player into your application. This tutorial explains how to build a demonstration application that adds webcam video recording.

Also, with the release of Nimbb Player 1.31.1 and 2.15.1, we added the new method resize(). This allows changing directly the size of the Nimbb Player and is mainly to be used when embedding Nimbb into an Adobe Flash Professional application. You can learn more in the Methods page.

Added two new case studies

We added two new case studies:

- The Hunger Games: The Hunger Games movie used Nimbb for a video contest.
- Jeepnee: Jeepnee used Nimbb for job interview.

Also, we fixed a problem with the Facebook like buttons on the site, updated the FAQ and Parameters pages.

Nimbb Player 1.31 and 2.15

This new update improves the handling of accessing methods of the player on slower connections. Previously, in some cases, it was required to add a delay between each method call to make sure that the communication between the player and the server has enough time to complete. This is now solved by improving the way the player handles method calls. So adding delay is no longer required.

Move your files to Vidyard

We added compatibility with Vidyard to the Video/Move function of the Web Service. If you have an account with video marketing platform Vidyard, you can easily move your Nimbb video files to your account. This functionality is available for Gold or higher subscribers. In addition, we remove the beta tag on the high-quality feature and added new testimonials in our Customers page.

We are proud to announce that the Nimbb API has now been open to businesses for 4 years! Developers and companies around the world rely on our webcam video recording framework each day.

To celebrate and to thank all our customers for trusting our service, we are doing a major upgrade to all our subscription plans to offer a lot more video recording each month. During all those years, we have worked hard to provide the most stable, reliable and easy-to-use webcam API on the market. We feel confident that we can offer a lot more to our customers; so here are the new numbers of allowed recordings per month:

Bronze: 1,000 videos (before: 100 videos)
Silver: 5,000 videos (before: 250 videos)
Gold: 10,000 videos (before: 500 videos)
Platinum: 25,000 videos (before: 1,500 videos)
Corporate: 50,000 videos (before: 5,000 videos)

This new offering now allows our customers to have more liberty while using our service without worrying of running out of videos. Now, ask your developers to build great project using the Nimbb API!

Nimbb Player 1.30 and 2.14

This new releases of the Nimbb Player include the new parameter "showmicrobar". Setting the parameter with a value to "1" adds a microphone sound detection bar in recording mode. This can give a visual feedback to the user about the audio.

We also fixed an issue with the "showcounter" parameter that would not correctly hide when set to "0".

Move your files to YouTube

We just added a new feature for our Silver (and higher) subscribers in the Web Service: move your files to YouTube. If you have a YouTube account, you can use the Video/Move function to move your video files from the Nimbb servers to Youtube.

Set permissions on files moved to Amazon S3

We have updated the Video/Move function. By default, the Amazon ACL permissions on the object are set to public read. However, your user will not have access to change those permissions. To give full permissions to your account, you can now specify as a parameter your Amazon S3 login email address.
